Entrepreneur Plus Category

The Entrepreneur Plus Category came into effect on late 2009. It provides a fast track to residence for migrants who can demonstrate they have been actively participating in business and contributing to New Zealand’s economic development.

Objective

The objective of the Entrepreneur Plus Category is to attract migrants who can demonstrate they have been actively participating in business and contributing to New Zealand's economic development.

Summary of requirements

The pre-requisite for this application is a Long Term Business Visa and for an application under the Entrepreneur Plus Category to be approved:

  • the principal applicant and family members included in the application must meet health and character requirements (see A4 and A5); and
  • the principal applicant must hold a Long Term Business Permit; and
  • the principal applicant and family members over 16 years must meet minimum English language requirements; and
  • the principal applicant must transfer NZ$0.5 million to New Zealand.
  • the principal applicant must have successfully established a business in New Zealand

As from Friday, 18 November 2011, changes have been made to some of the health requirements for both partners and dependent children of residents, and for pregnant temporary entrants to New Zealand.
